Our History - January 2001 - Lost & Found opened its doors to the first children’s support group
- October 2005 - over 260 children and their families have been served to date
- April 2006 – Lost & Found will move into it’s new facility at 1006 N. Cedarbrook
- November 2007-Little One's Group formed (3-6 Year Olds)
- Lost & Found's Annual Dinner Auction on February 8, 2007 was a huge success!
- February 2007, Lost & Found hired Holly McGee as the Director of Development.
- Lost & Found provided services to over 150 grieving children & parents from a 12 county area in 2007.
- Currently, Lost & Found runs groups for Children, Middlers and Teens
- An average of 70-90 children, and 65-80 parents are enrolled in groups at any given time.
- Over 50 volunteer facilitators are serving in groups to accommodate the needs of families – Approximately 3,500 volunteer hours each year
- Lost & Found relies solely on contributions and grants to provide services no cost to families
- On average the budget reflects a cost of approximately $1,000 per child per year
- Lost & Found dollars are necessary to cover the cost of group supplies and toys, awareness to area school counselors, teachers and supporters, facilitator training, group activities, administrative and operational expenses
- Lost & Found is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS
- Lost & Found is currently forming groups for young adults (Ages 18-30), who have had a parent, sibling, or friend die, as well as a group for older adults grieving the death of a spouse of many years. For more information, or to enroll in one of these groups please call 865.9998.
