Parent Groups

When do parent groups meet?  Children and teens are placed in groups by age.  While the children are in group, their parents meet in a parent support group at the same time the kids' groups meet, 6:30-8:00 in the evening.

What do parents do in group?  Following introductions, the parents are informed about the activity for the children or teens that evening.  Sometimes the parents discuss the same topic.  Often, parents share their own concerns or questions.  Their group discussions include parenting grieving children, understanding children's grief, and sharing their own struggles as a grieving spouse or parent.  Parents in the groups provide both emotional support and practical support about getting through the struggles of establishing a new normal for their families.
